Volleyball Blog: Summer 2008

Hey Ladies,

Welcome to the summer blog of 2008. If you are new let me example. Last summer we created a blog for everyone to write on during the summer to post prayer requests, exciting news, information about yourself, ask questions, and just chat. It was a hit especially for the incoming players to get to know the team and build cohesiveness before the season began. We would like to provide this opportunity again. Post as often as you would like and enjoy getting to know each other.

Hello Ladies!
First of all, I miss every single one of you! How awesome is it being out of classes!? Wow, it feels so great! Ahhh...!
I started GM Monday and things have been all talk and no action because of orientation, but tomorrow I will be out on the plant floor and directing the line! (FYI: GM stands for General Motors, I work in the Fort Wayne truck assembly plant where we make silverado and sierra trucks. Honestly, the assembly line is one of the coolest things I have ever seen!) Oh yeah, by the way, I get up at 4:30 every morning! YUCK!
Also, I visited my sister, Ann, in Austin last week where I had a super duper time! Austin is a REALLY cool city (a lot of young people and envirofriendliness, which you know I love if you have ever used styrofoam in my presence) and I got to spend time with my awesome sister.
Girls, the wedding plans have begun! :) The ceremony and reception with both be in Marion! We are getting married in College Wesleyan Church followed by the reception at the Roseburg Event Center, which is only 2 miles from CWC.
Last but not least, I want to give a super shout out to my girl Mo, who just got engaged! Congrats Friend!
NOTE to new team members: This blog is for ALL things, not just vball updates. We like to encourage one another regarding our workouts, but besides that, we mostly update each other about our lives! So feel free to tell us things like where you are going on vacay, how many brothers and sisters you have, what you are most scared about coming to college, questions about classes, profs or ANYTHING! Welcome to our family :) and we love you!
I guess that wraps things up for now...Its only 9:37 but I have to go to SLEEP!
Oh yeah... Share prayer requests too girls!

Jill-I'm so glad Austin was fun and I hope working at GM is awesome once you get to direct the line!!
And yay for weddings!!! This is SO exciting! Congrats to you both!
Well... since summer just began I haven't really done anything fun yet...pretty much been doing nothing, which is definitely great! Unfortunately I'm taking Chemistry at a community college this summer that starts in june.. NO FUN! I really do not like chemistry...oh well.
Well I hope your summers have started out wonderful (those of us that are out of school right now that it). And I want to hear what all of you guys are up to!
Love you all!

Just as T said, yesterday was our first official day of summer so I have not done too many exciting things to tell you all about. But, no worries, I am sure there will be pleanty to talk about here soon!
It is GORGEOUS outside!!! I am being a nanny for three kids during the day throughout the week. They are currently eating lunch right now. :) So I thought I would slip in a blog to you all!
I wish there was more to tell you...all there is left to say is...

I LOVE YOU!!!

T~ I miss my pepper partner already! :(
Jill~ Show em who's boss on the floor of the plant! :)

The blog! Love communicating with everyone this way. I was just getting ready to send out a mass email to everyone, but this is much easier and better. I just got home from Missouri, where I was attending staff training at K-2, the Christian sports camp I'll be working at for a month at the end of June. Staff training was pretty intense as we got the camp grounds ready--outdoor vball court scrubbing, weeding, raking, cleaning etc. We also got oriented with how everything works at camp, and also got our hearts ready to pour into kids for the summer. It was intimidating at first, but I had a blast and can't WAIT to go back and have campers of my own! Not sure what age group I'll have in my cabin, could be anywhere from 13-18 years old. I won't have many opportunities to talk to you guys while I'm there, since we can't use our phones or the internet unless we're on a night off. But this camp is amazing and God is already doing some great things. Many of you already know how much I love combining my faith with sports and just having the opportunity to love on some girls, and I'm getting pumped just talking about it! Please pray for me and for my campers, that we'll each have open hearts to the Holy Spirit and that God will grant me wisdom as I work with these girls.

Now that I'm back home, I'm working at the golf course again. My poor flowers have so many weeds! lol Also getting ready for my sister Allison to graduate...craziness. If you didn't know, she is COMING TO IWU NEXT YEAR AND SHE'S PLAYING SOFTBALL!!!!! I can't wait to have her here...she's amazing. Anyway, the proud sis is glad to see God working in her life in some great ways!

I hope things are going well for everyone. Keep working hard and keep staying in the Word. That's something we talked a lot about at camp...we can't pour Christ into others unless we ourselves are being fed with the Word. There's nothing like it! Love each and every one of you, and I can't wait to get to know the newbies. :) Hope you're all doing well!

ps...It's so great to hear from everyone! Jill, that's amazing that wedding plans are going so well. I'm grinning just thinking about it! Glad work is going well too. T, hope Jamba Juice realizes how great of an employee they have! Sarah, hope you're enjoying being a nanny. I'm sure your kids adore you. :) Kate, hang in there! You're almost done...I'll be there at graduation cheering you on! LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!!!

T said...

Well hey again everyone!
Just thought I'd give you an update! Working at Jamba has been pretty fun...the people are really fun and I get to see lots of people I know come in to buy drinks! There are just so many drinks to remember though and I'm not very good at making them, since everyone else has them all like memorized and are really fast. So when it gets busy they tell me to go do dishes haha. I don't mind it because I'd just be holding up the line and I'm pretty good at washing blenders and such anyways :)

Now that the weather is nicer it actually feels like summer and I've been able to get some sun when I'm not working!! yayy! (I even got burned!!!)

Sarah - good luck with the nannying... let's just say that's not my "gift" but I bet you are the best nanny ever! And I miss you too pepper partner!
Kate - Yay! I'm so excited you wrote on the blog! And you graduate on fridayyyyy! so exciting!! I hope the last couple days are awesome!
Bekah - I'm so excited for you! You are going to be a phenomenal with those girls i know it!

Everybody else - get writing!! I want to know what all of you are up to!

I LOVE YOU ALL! and miss you too!

Hey Everyone!
I recently just got home from being in Indiana all last week. I was there visiting my boyfriend and registering for classes. It went really well, almost all my classes transferred, so that is good news!
I'll actually be back to Indiana in a couple weeks for helping with camp and going to the John Mayer concert! :)
Other than that, I don't have much exciting news. I just wanted to say hello to everyone and hope you are all having a great summer! I can't wait to see you all again!

Rebekah said...

Kelli it's great to hear from you! Glad you enjoyed your time in good old Indiana. :) You're going to have a blast working camp...I wish I could be there, it's one of my favorite things to do! Anyway, I hope everyone else is doing well right now. We need more people posting on here! Let's all remember to keep Coach and her family in our prayers as they are mourning the loss of her mom. It's a blessing to know she's with the Lord and is no longer suffering, but I know how close they were. Coach, please know we all love you very much and are praying for you! Let us know if you need anything. :)

In slightly happier news...I am asking you all to pray for me in regards to a new little surprise in my life. Mutual friends introduced me to a guy that I "just had to meet"...anyway, we've been emailing and even hung out a few times, and he's pretty great! Just keep praying for me that I will sense the Lord's leading in either direction and will patiently :) wait on His timing. Guys, I'm not the most experienced in this area, :) and I'd love your prayers. Thanks everyone, you're the greatest! His name is Dave if you want to pray more specifically. :)

How are work outs going? Probably about as fun as mine are! :) lol Hopefully you're pushing through the hot weather and finding time to get things accomplished. It will pay off in the end, I promise! And even greater pay offs is getting in the Word. I'm constantly challenged to spend more time knowing Christ and showing Him my heart. I hope you are all getting opportunities to do the same! If you need a good place to start, I just love Philippians. :)

Camp is just around the corner! I am super stoked about having campers and such, and I can't wait! Thanks for all your prayers! Girls...I miss you. Keep shining for Him!!!!! MUAH!!!

Hello there to all my fiiiiiine ladies whom I miss dearly and love o so tenderly! :) You are all on my mind just about every second of every day. When I am doing little things, some related to volleyball and some aren't, I find myself thinking of one of you...it never fails! I love that I can take you all just about any where I go. :) Greatness!!! Any who...I could sit here and tell you all how F.A.B.U.L.O.U.S you are but we just don't have enough time in the world...

I just got off the phone with my Mom. You all know how she has major health issues it seems like all of the time. But, just today, as of this morning she was diagnosed with cellulitis. NO ONE FREAK OUT JUST YET! lol. It isn't fatal. It can be, but in her case it is not. If they don't treat it now, and make sure that it doesn't spread, then it could be fatal. They are watching it very closely though! It started out as a small lesion on her foot. They said it was athlete's foot. Then she started getting very abnormal symptoms. She was feeling aweful for about a week, until she decided go to IU Medical Center. I am so happy she did! :) That is where she was diagnosed with cancer in the 1980s. The doctors there are so wonderful. She is home resting up and trying to get herself up and going. Any of you that know Mama B, there just isn't a dull moment with her and any time on a couch just relaxing is time wasted. She likes to be out having fun...changing the world. Lol. Please keep her in your prayers. I know something like cellulitis seems so small when our team is grieving the loss of Coach's beautiful mother. I have been thinking about her all day today...wishing I could be there to wrap her in my arms and tell her every thing is going to be okay. She is where she should be, and I know she feels our thoughts and prayers.

Girls...we have been through so much as a team! The obstacles God has placed in our lives have been great, but we continue to over come them with the strength we feed one another. Hold on to that strength! We need to continue seeking the good out of every not so good situation. GOD IS MAKING US SO STRONG!!! We are some tough lil cookies ya know it? When we all come together in August, I cannot even begin to FATHOM the bond we will have formed with one another. I pray for us every day...and you are with me always...if you think of me and have free time...pick up the phone and call me, will ya? For all the newbies, this one's for you: (317) 491-8066. OR TEXT ME! I just about live on my phone via texting. No joke! There's no denying it. It's sad, but true!

One more thing...I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. Hehehe. I did this last time! I just can never seem to say what I want to say in one "comment post" I get so excited to be typing to you all things slip my mind! I am sure you all aren't too surprised! Sarah...being a goof again!
But for real, thank you for all the encouragement!!! Being a nanny is so MAGNIFICANT! I have grown to love my kiddos. Although they make me smile and laugh every day, I am definitely not ready to be a mom any time soon. Phhhew on that one right? Lol.

Tah tah for now my darling sisters in Christ!

hey girls!!!!
i thought it was time for a little update...
I am finished with high school! woo hoo! now i can't wait to go to IWU and be with eveyone. i had to give a speech at my graduation, and it went well. I really felt like God helped give me words to say, and I received a lot of positive feedback about it.
i just feel overwhelmed by God's goodness right now. He is blessing me left and right with relationships. My open house reminded me that I am loved by him and many others. It will be bittersweet to leave her, but it is a necessary path that i need to walk in life. My thoughts are constantly on you all, and I pray for us all the time. Hope all is well with everyone!
Can't wait for camp and August!

I am thinking about you all at this very second!!! I love you and I miss you!!!

Girlies!!! Hi my pretties. :) How are you all doing?! I miss each and every one of you. Sarah, I trust your mom is doing better! That can be so scary, but I'm so thankful the doctors were able to jump right on it. Keep us updated! And Kate, I'm so glad graduation is now over and you can relax! I'm sure it's a great feeling. :)

Okay, so remember me mentioning earlier that I met this guy Dave? Well, we have been hanging out a LOT lately, and things have been going so very well. Through the odd event of randomly meeting his ex-girlfriend (so awkward!) we talked about our friendship and how we both want it to continue to grow. He is so understanding of my super busy upcoming senior year, and even my summer. I've been doing a lot of praying and such, and I covet your prayers as well...but so far so good! He loves the Lord so much...and he's super cute. ;) He just tagged a px of us on facebook, so you can check it out if you like!!!! Anyway, just thought I'd keep you all updated and informed. This being all so new to me, I'm kinda freaking out a LOT at times :) but Dave is so patient. I'm still floored by how all of this is working out! I love and miss you all. Hope you're doing well!!!

Heyyyyyy Everyone!! Sorry I have been so behind on getting a post on here!!! Ahhh crazy summer!!

I can't believe it has been like 2 months since we have all seen each other!! It feels like forever! I hope everyone is doing great!! I just recently was in my cousins wedding and oops! Caught the bouquet!! hahah but still on the singles list!! =]

This hasn't been the best summer for me. Everything started out fine, but my parents and I have been kind of fighting a lot for not any specific reason, and I had gotten mildly depressed for about a month or so, making myself sick and such. Luckily my vacation from happiness ended with the help of my very best friend Hollie. She couldn't have been a better blessing in my life!! Every day has been a new journey for me and I am growing soooo much!!

I will be going to Mexico I believe for family vacation the end of July!! If not Mexico, Jamaica possibly! It will be a good week.

My mom has been in and out of the doctor recently, more than before. They have reason to think she is anemic and is bleeding internally somewhere in her body. She is going in for tests in the next week to see if they can find what is going on in there!!

I have just begun reading all of your posts!! Everything sounds sooooo great!!!

Good luck with everything!!
Love you girls!

Hey girls! I miss you guys so so much! Well...I have been taking a physics class at IU South Bend. Luckily that ended on Monday! I'm also working at the Gap again..which is going really well. Other than that I have just been spending time with Adam and laying out at the pool.

I know some of you know this already..but, I'm engaged :) He asked me to marry him last Tuesday. It's really exciting! I know you guys don't know him very well but I hope you get to over the next year. God has blessed me with a truly amazing man!

I hope everyone is doing well. I love you all!!

This whole Dave thing sounds SUPER FUN too babe! I have been thinking about you a lot. Whenever I find myself spending energy on boy's, I pull up your amazing witness you gave at IWU. It helps me keep my energy well spent on the One and only...Jesus Christ! Kate...sorry I did not give a shout out to the BIG BAD GRADUATED SENIOR...i was too busy trying to explain my Mama's situation!!! How does it feel? Bitter sweet huh? I had mixed emotions when I graduated. I was thrilled to be moving forward in the journey of life, but also sad to think that it will never be the same again...with friends and family. Every thing changes...and I am MORE THAN GLAD you have choosen the IWU family to help you grow in those changes! :) Kelli...BUMMER I MISSED YOU WHEN YOU WERE IN INDY!!! I would have loved to have met you for lunch. ;/ I know we will have pleanty of time to to get to know each other in pre-season. SOOOO EXCITED! Alli My Love Holloway...keep shining on those rainy days girl! Just remember...IT CAN'T RAIN FOREVER! You know I am a phone call away...I would drive to stinkin' Fairmount if you said you needed me! COME TO INDY if you wanna get away for it all...road trips are always a PLUS! T...I am still missing my pepper partner...and you know what else I miss? YOUR LAUGH! Random, I know. But it's so very true! Please call me and leave me a message of you LAUGHING! That would just light up my world girl!

Well, Mama B is feeling MUCH better! Her toe still looks discustingly painful, but she no longer has headaches and her groin isn't bothering her. WHAT A RELIEF! I tell ya! Because of her previous medical conditions, little things like that can't be taken lightly! THANK YOU FOR THE THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS!

I love you all!!! And, as awlays, I miss you when we aren't together!

Wow girls, I am sitting here blown away by all our news!! GEEZ, can I get you guys to slow the heck down so I can stop freakin out! Peanut you're engaged! Bekah has some man candy in her life! The 'rents are causing Alibaba and SarBear musc trouble! Girls, my head is spinning! Know that you are all in my prayers and on my mind so much of the time!
Well, I have been working about 65+ hours a week at GM so needless to say, this is the first time I have been on the blog since my inital post. (Boy did I catch up on a lot, you crazy girls!) Work is amazingly awesome. I like but more importantly, I am learning SO MUCH! There have unoffically offered me a job for after graduation because they are really pleased with my work. Its a crazy place...we drive about 1000 freshly assembled trucks into the lot everyday. I am on first shift (4:30am is the wake up call everyday!) and have about 30 operators under my supervision. I am a "foreman" or supervisor, what we call a group leader. I have kind of a beast as a boss, but she appreciates hard work so we have been getting along really well. My line is responsible for the doors :)
The wedding plans have been on hold as a result of my insane work schedule, but the official date is May 16th! YAY!
To continue the weird health problems update everyone seems to have: I had a run in with a potential case of lyme's disease 3 weeks ago. I had the classic "lyme's rash" and a majority of the symtoms. It is a potentially fatal (although not so much anymore) chronic disease that is very hard to diagnose because it rarely shows up in blood tests. The doctors didn't want to take any chances so I took some strong antibiotics and have been feeling so much better this week. I had to take 2 weeks off in my work outs and visited the hospital and doctors office several times. Hopefully, it will not come back!

Well Girls, I think that is all for now! I can't believe how fast summer is going...we will all be back together again so soon! Bummer about school but YAY about YOU guys!
LOVE LOVE LOVE

BEKAH - omg I am SO happy for you!!! Can I just say he'd better come to IWU right away so we can meet him! I love how God works so perfectly! And little PEANUT! getting married!?! oh my goodness!! I am calling you today to get more info...you can't just say that kind of stuff wihtout explaining! I feel like I have no idea what's going on in all your lives haha. Can't wait to see you all!
So besides jamba, I also got a job at my dad's company transferring old documents to the new template and stuff..tedious work but it pays well. My dad takes the train to chicago every morning and I get to go downtown with him and take a lunch break with him and stuff...so funny. I feel so old riding the train with all these business people in the mornings (and I have to wear nice clothes UGH!)...but it's good bonding time haha. (I met his "commuter" friends and everything! it's like I found out about the other half of my dad's life at work!) I haven't been able to get out in the sun working everyday so my tan is failing, which I'm actually getting quite depressed about!!
But enough about me... I love you guys so much and am praying for ALL of you! God is faithful!
and sarah... I'm laughing at your post right now but you can't hear meee!!!! sad. love you all!

FYI-

I love everything you say on here because it makes me feel like you are sitting right beside me. Miss you Dear.
I love my teammates!

Also, something I would really appreciate right now from you girls is your prayers. I am going through a very difficult time spiritually...something similar to what I have experienced in the past before coming to IWU. However, I am SUCH a different person now so I'm officially confused about what God is teaching me. I would really appreciate your prayers for me as a persist through this extremely difficult time in my spirital journey.

HELLO HELLO HELLO!

If you don't remember me, I am your old friend Kelley Morris who was an idiot and typed out a MASSIVE response and then lost it. HAHAHAhahahahaHAHAHAHA! Leave it to me, please. :)

SO I want you all to know in a summed up version that I am writing out yet again another MASSIVE response to all of my beautiful ladies. I am more than sorry that I have not written to you yet.

I am praying for you all and love you all more than you will ever know.

NEWBIES!!! Hello and welcome. I cannot wait to get to know more. I already love you oh so very much.

So I was told that you would all like more details as a follow up to my email.

On Saturday morning Ruth came over to my place to work out at the gym. Well when she got there and opened the door to my apartment she realized that everything was not as she thought. She opened the door to rose petals on the floor lined with candles leading to the next doorway in my place that had a pink fabric archway on it. I asked her to marry me and then gave her a bible and a ring. She said yes, and we did not work out, but instead went out to breakfast.

Oh girls, it's so great to hear from you! Seriously, I miss you all so much! I'm having a blast here at camp, and I'm on a day off so I thought I'd write you all a quick update of things that are going on! I do want to say that it's great to hear updates on your lives. Even though I don't have time to respond about everyone's lives, know you're being lifted up, each of you. :)

Camp has been going so well!!! I have a cabin of 12 girls 17-18 year olds, and they are phenominal! They are struggling with things in their lives, but they all have hearts for the Lord and are pretty mature in their faith. But I've loved having the opportunity to pour into their lives! We're already sooo close and I've had some great conversations already...i'ts been such an answer to prayer! God is working in some amazing ways! I can't wait to tell you all more about it in person!

ps...things with Dave are going so well! slow, which is exactly how I want it, but well. :) I can't write much now, but again I'd love to share more in person! So far our friendship has been a fun blessing from the Lord, so I'm trying to enjoy it to the fullest and not freak myself out with worry about how things are supposed to go, and simply leave them in His hands. I hope you girls get to meet him soon!

There's SO much more to write, but unfortunately I'm running out of time. If you get a chance I'd LOVE to have you write me some snail mail! LOVE you all! :)

So...I wish I had more time to sit here and tell you all what is going on in the life and heart of Sarah Daniell...but I don't at the moment. I did, however, just get off the phone with Coach and Lauren. She is scheduling her classes AS I TYPE! :) Another NURSING MAJOR on the team! That's what I'm talkin about! WELCOME ABOARD MY FRIEND...you and I are going to be BESTEST BUDDIES! So glad! I just wanted to drop you all a QUICK line and tell you I AM MISSING YOU TERRIBLY...and that is an UNDER-STATEMENT! I am seriously YEARNING to be with you all...as a group...laughing and crying TOGETHER! I am counting down the days until then...

I will post ASAP! Promise. My prayers, encouragement, and most of all, LOVE is with you all.

P.S. HAPPY BELATED INDEPENDENCE DAY!!! How glorious it is to be free! I think that is something we, AMERICANS, take for granted A LOT! I was watching a special on Oprah (surprise surprise) and it was over the devistating things citizens of other countries have to withstand. My heart broke for them. Just thought you all would like to join me in taking a moment to thank God for the beautiful country in which we live...and all those who sacrifice of themselves to make that possible.

I know, JILL, you don't even have to say it...I got myself on this one...that was a DOVEY comment. Proud of it! Miss you schnukumms... more than I think you know!

hello everyone!
first off...Sarah, thanks for your thoughts. I think it is important to appreciate our freedom and all that we have, and it is so easy to overlook it.
so i just got back from registering too. as fun as that process is, I did have a blast! mostly because i got to hang with all of the incoming freshmen vball girls. i am now super excited (as if i wasn't before) to come now! we are all four rooming together! woo hoo! and i love it! everything is hitting me now...I now have a schedule of classes and books...weird! but it is good!
so if any of you have any suggestions to the four incoming freshmen for room ideas or just general helpful little tidbits. or just random stories are fine too! =) we would appreciate it!
again, i love you all and think about you constantly. can't wait to start playing! see you soon!

Well hello to all of my lovely ladies!
I hope everyone is doing well and that you are all having incredible summers. I cannot believe that I have not found myself on here more, but when I say my schedule is crazy busy, I mean that fulfeartedly.
I have been so blessed to have spent three weeks in a classroom this summer, a new job at McKown Studio, working multiple volleyball camps within the community, and spending time with my amazing family and friends. I returned from Florida a couple of weeks ago from a two week trip with Daniel's family first to Orlando and then Amelia Island with my family the following week. We had an incredible time both weeks. Disney World was of course "Where Dreams Come True" :) I was able to be there with my Prince Charming, hehehe! If only I were getting a ring like some of you lucky girls (and guy).
I just want to say that I am so happy for you Jill, Mo, Peanut, and Coach T! I cannot wait to hear more about the wedding plans and how everything is coming along. To go along with all of your engagements, my sister Cori Beth became engaged this summer and will be getting married next summer someplace tropical :) And I am not complaining.
I have also had the priviledge to spend an entire day with Miss Kelli and her wonderful beau Austin! We went golfing, and let me just tell you that it was quite an adventure :) I am thinking I might have to give up volleyball to further my golfing career...HAHAHA! You all know how BIG of a joke that is :) But after golfing we ate and headed to the John Mayer concert. It was incredible and I couldn't have asked for a better day.
Thought I should mention AUBREY! She is absolutely adorbale and getting bigger and bigger every day. She is SEVEN MONTHS OLD NOW. I know...hard to believe...SEVEN MONTHS! I cannot even describe to you how much I love this little bundle of joy. She is learning to crawl and has mastered ma-ma-ma and da-da-da! I love LOVE love to hear her talk...her little voice is as precious as they come. I cannot wait for you all to see her again.

As for all of you----

T--I am so glad to hear that everything is going well. I wish I could see you in action at Jamba :) I bet you are one hot Jamba girl ... hehe!

Miss Sarah-- I don't even know where to begin with you. You never cease to amaze me, that is for sure. I feel like I can learn so much just by reading your posts :) Thank you for being who you are. I really really hope we are as fortunate as I think we will be this coming week and be able to get together. Keep on the good work nannying...I know the kids must love having you around.

JIll-- I hope things are getting better for you. You have been in my thoughts and prayers (as have the rest of you) and I really hope that the Lord has has been going great things in your life. I cannot wait to hear more about the wedding.. you are going to be one blushing bride :)

Bekah Bekah Bekah-- a man candy! YIPEEE!!!! Keep enjoying your time at camp and doing what you do best.

Peanut-- wow! engaged...that is incredible. I cannot wait to hear more about it all.

TO ALL THESE MEN PROPOSING TO MY LOVELY GIRLS (even though you don't read this)-- you better be good to my women because if not...I WILL HUNT YOU DOWN. and I do NOT want to have to do that. These women are very precious to me and I want only the very best for them :)

Kelli-- well, you know that I love you and I am oh so excited to be your new roommate. I hope everything is going well and that you are getting enough sleep now a days ;)

Alli-- you are too great! I hope the rest of your summer goes well and you have an exciting spur of the moment vacation. Don't go getting too tan :)

Kate-- It has been so great to get to hear from you and read about you on here. I am so excited to have you on our team. It is going to be a great experience. YAY :)

NEWBIES-- come tell us more about yourself :)

I seriously don't know if I left anyone out...if I did...SO SORRY! I am so excited to hear more about what is going on in all of your lives. I want to say thank you for being such an incredible team and for having the hearts that you do. I am speechless so often as to how to describe this team. You are all incredible women of God and I just want to encourage you in your walk with God. I know I have personally been struggling with "finding time for God", and how stupid is that. He should consume me, yet I find ways to push Him to the end of my schedule. Remember that without Him, all other things fall short of the success and potential they could have with God!

Hello my loves! It is very early in the morning and I was just thinking about all of you! I miss you girls so so much!

Well..let the wedding plans begin. As of right now we are searching for a place to have our recepetion. I don't know too much yet, but it has been fun so far. We are thinking of getting married on August 8th of next summer..so everyone mark your calenders way in advance because I expect every single one of you to be there!!

It is so great to read about everyones summers! I thought that we would all be able to spend some time relaxing this summer...but it seems that everyone is still very busy. I have just been working at the Gap and volunteering at a physical therapy clinic that deals mostly with handicap children. Although it is not exactly what I want to do, it has been a great experience!!!

I love you girls so much! If anyone wants..you can totally call me or text me because I would love to hear your pretty voices :)

Girls...
Seriously, I need each one of you beside me right now! I am embarrassed to confess how badly I have stumbled this summer...in fact, I have fallen. I don't know how to describe what I am feeling besides what Paul writes in Romans 7:14-25 where he says he hates what he does, but continues to do it.
I hope I am not confusing you guys by being vague (I want to protect Matt and I's relationship) but I really want to ask you to pray for Matt and I. We both need hearts full of forgiveness and grace right now.
Thank you so much and I can't tell you how much Matt and I appreciate it.
Thanks for your support Team.
Love Love Love

Jill,

I am praying for you this very moment. Oh how blessed we are to have each other. Please know that now when you are feeling weak, I am feeling strong. I am here for you and want nothing more than to be with you. I love you with my whole heart and know that there is a not a moment that goes by that God does not love you. Even when we have failed Him, He loves us. Why?! Wouldn't we all like to know, but that is the amazing thing of it all. God is so gracious and so forgiving. Keep striving for what is good in our Savior's eyes. I love you Jill and I love Matt. I am praying for you both individually and as one. Let me know if you need anything.

First, I would like to say: Miss Sarah Byrne you crack me up!!!!!
Secondly: Kelley, so good to hear from you and I am most definitely jealous of your trips to Florida!
Kate: oh registration!!! so fun! That's when I met most of the other freshies too! Get even more excited because IWU is freaking awesome!!!!!! :)
I am praying for each and every one of you - with the things you've posted and those we haven't. That's what we are all here for - to support you, pray for you, lift you up, and to get excited for you!I love you all so so so much!

Here's an update about me:
I've met a couple of people this summer I've gotten really close to and have learned so much from. It's been so obvious why God's put them in my life. (FYI: my 3 BEST friends from home left me to rot, literally ALL summer, so I wasn't expecting much in the "social" aspect of my summer). As I've gotten to know each of them, I've been learning how important it is to get in the Word daily, to listen to Him for guidance in everything, and to make choices that honor God. Not only that, but i've been having SO MUCH fun with them! I never thought I'd say it's gonna be really hard leaving them!! (Not that I'm not totally excited to see all of YOU again!!!!!!! because I without a doubt am!) God's provided me this summer with more than I could've asked for! He's way too good to me!! Summer is totally flying by though and I feel like I don't have enough time! I'm kind of freaking out!
This past weekend I went to North Avenue Beach in Chicago and to my surprise the AVP tour was going on and oh my goodness, am I excited to play! I got to play a pick-up game on an open court while I was there! (Exciting!)
Work has been crazy, both at Jamba and at my Padre's company, but it's money and I need it!! (Kelley, Maybe I'll bring my Jamba hat and apron to IWU so I can show you just how hot an employee I am in that and my white polo and non-slip black shoes! haha)
Other than that, there's not a whole lot going on. I miss each of you like crazy!!! I LOVE MY TEAM!
Less than a month!!! holy cow, I don't know what to do!!!!!
have a wonderful wonderful day!!!

Peace Out. A-Town Down :)

Jill said...

My heart is feeling so heavy right now...no worries...it's a good heavy...more like a deep desire to share my heart with all of you. =) I NEED TO BE RECONCILED WITH EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU...all for very different reasons. I FOUND ME!!! YAY!!! HERE I AM!!! lol. But for real, I cannot wait to share with all of you all of my fun lil new discoveries and all the adventures I went on this summer. I AM IN LOVE...WITH ME...something I used to know and kind of strayed from for a while. It has been a GLORIOUS reawakening. =) I know that is a very brief explaination, but ya'll get the point. Annnnd...I have to leave room for stuff to talk about during lovely 3-a-days and CALIFORNIA!!!!! ahhhh. So excited to play some westcoast volleyball! =) Jill...there is nothing left to say other than I NEED YOU, ONE-IN-A-MILLION JILLIAN, WRAPPED IN BOTH OF MY ARMS, SQUEEZING TIGHTLY (but not too tightly), WHISPERING IN YOUR EAR, "I LOVE YOU! IT WILL ALL WORK ITSELF OUT. GOD IS ON YOUR SIDE...ALWAYS. HE KNOWS WHAT IS IN STORE FOR YOU TOMORROW, AND THE DAY AFTER, AND THE DAY AFTER THAT. YOU AND MATT ARE RESTING IN THE PALM OF HIS HANDS. HOW BEAUTIFUL!"

With that being said, please download of youtube the song 'How Beautiful.' It will soften your heart and rest your thoughts.

T...YOU ROCK MY WORLD EVERY SINGLE DAY...even though you aren't here with me! =)

Peanut...you're SEXY...you soon to be married woman you. And I don't know if that nakey time comment was directed towards me, but I AM TAKIN IT! I would love nothing more than to have some QUALITY nakey time with you...and whomever would like to join.

I am sending more LOVE than any computer could EVER type!!!!!

Ok once again, please allow me to leave love on this blog.
I FREAKIN' MISS YOU GUYS! I know NO ONE looks forward to 100 practices a week but girls...I would practice a million times a day if it meant getting to be friends with all of you. (Wow, SarBear, I think I am turning into a Dovey! Haha!)
I miss you girls so much and will really appreciate your support and relationships when we finally get to be together once again!

By the way Freshies...Practice nakey time on your own. It will come in handy when we implement the 08 Nakey Time Sessions.
All my Love.

friends...sisters...I miss you. I've made so many good friends and memories this summer, but no one can quite compare to the girls I've sweated with, worked myself to the bone with, cried with, refrained from dessert with, shared my heart with. You are each so special to me! This summer I was reminded of so many things. One of which was just HOW much God loves each of His children. Think about this...I am His favorite. YOU are His favorite. What an awesome thought!!! Only He could love me that much. It's so great to hear your hearts on the blog and what God's doing and what's on your hearts. Jilly, please know you are being lifted up by your sisters who LOVE you...and who are loving you back to the foot of the cross, where each of us receive our identity, our name, forgiveness, purity, love...He will give you the strength to walk out of this sin and pick you up after you've fallen. Thank you SO much for sharing this so we can walk along side you in this. That's what we are here for. As it says in Ecc. 4:12, a cord of three strands is not easily broken!Praying for you and Matt MUCH!!! Love you precious friend.

Kelley, thanks for sharing your heart. :) Miss you SO much girl! We have much catching up to do!

T, so glad you have been having a wonderful summer with new friends! can't wait to hear all the things you've been learning and the ways you've been growing. wish you could bring me a sample of your Jamba expertise! ;) lol

pretty please...T definitely needs to be in charge of turning the lights out wherever she is. always a freshie at heart! ;) lol

Krystin...buddy...I hope you can visit me at ND soon. we are entirely WAY too far behind in each others' lives. and you WOULD mention nakey time...lol I LOVE YOU!!!!

everyone else...I can't wait to meet you OR catch up! keep diving into the Word and let God totally speak to your heart, so when we come together we can collectively share all God's been doing this summer and grow closer through Him. It's the best way to stay together! Man, I have so much more to say. I'll stop writing this book. Know that I love you! See you SOOOOOOOOONNN!

ps...keep pushing hard through workouts and such. we are going to be phenominal this year! :)

Girls!
I can't tell you what an encouragement it is to hear about all of your lives. Everything...the struggles, the praises, and the daily routines of life each have their own impact. Thank you so much for being so open. I love it and you all oh so much!
God has just been working in my life so much this past year. I feel like I have learned to rely on him and seek him more than in any other time of my life. This summer has been crazy with relationship stuff in my life. It feels like things are working out and then a wrench gets thrown into it. In no way do I blame him for anything! I could not have survived some things if it hadn't been for his love comforting me and giving me peace. He has inserted another relationship situation in my life, and I could use your prayers as I try to wrestle through the internal conflicts I am feeling. Thanks for being there! love you all!

OOOOOOOOOOOOOH MY BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL LADIES!!!! I cannot believe that we will be reunited in approximately 2 WEEKS!!!!

WOOOOAAAAHHHHHHHH BABY, BABY!

I cannot wait to catch up with each and every one of you.

I just wanted to remind each of you that you are all unique and have something so amazing to bring to the team this year. Look ahead to all of the wonderful memories, late night chats, craving of sweets or biscuts and gravy, and love to go all around. This pre-season is going to lead into a year full of hard work, commitment, focus, fun, and love.

Keep preparing your hearts and allow God to lead you.

Have a super-duper week.

I love you ALL, MORE than you will EVER know!

Well, to give you all another thing to pray about (haha)... I got in a car accident last week (I just happened to be driving our newest car, too, go figure). Don't worry I'M FINE! (not a scratch or bruise on me! Seriously praise God for that!!!!!!) I'm paying the deductible on the insurance and a ticket (altho it's not entirely my fault - I will explain later to keep this short). However, I have to go to court (the date hasn't been set, but it'll be during season and it's gonna be a mess to change it so I don't miss school or vball!) I'm quite low in the money department as of now, but if I the guy who hit me doesn't show up to court, I won't have to pay for the ticket - which would be absolutely AWESOME! He probably will, to make sure he doesn't get the blame, but please girls, pray that he doesn't! If he does, I'll have to ask for "Supervision" so this won't go on my record and I'll have to pay over $200 more!! (I really don't have that kind of money, as I'm sure none of us really do!) I'm just asking God to work in this situation and for the man to be too busy to show up in court (and that the court date will be changed to a good time!) It's all very confusing and I'm just so upset that most of the money I've made this summer is now going to pay for this! Depressing... oh well, I know it'll all work out somehow. I'd really appreciate your prayers though!
Kate- I will def be praying for you!
Kelley - I want to hug you right now - you're so great!
Sara - i love YOU YOU YOU YOU YOU
Jill - I'm actually feeling deprived of nakey time (this is a big step)
Bek - You are so encouraging and I can't wait to hear about your summer!
everyone else - lovelovelovelovelovelovelovelove
